The present invention relates to a local broadcast system. Disclosed are a broadcast system and a method thereof for improving a broadcast receiving rate between a wireless local area network (WLAN) sharer and a terminal. The broadcast system for improving the broadcast receiving rate comprises a broadcast data server and the WLAN sharer. The broadcast data server broadcasts high-speed broadcast data and low-speed broadcast data. The WLAN sharer receives the high-speed broadcast data and the low-speed broadcast data; determines the data bit transmission speed of a wireless modem based on the control or the control data of the broadcast data server; and broadcasts one of the high-speed broadcast data and the low-speed broadcast data on a local network.
