The element (3) has two segments (9) provided in a circumferential direction. Each segment is attached at a housing (1) laterally from outside in a radial direction, where the housing is provided on an outer side of the element. The segments are contacted with the other segments or the adjacent segments at abutting edges. A density of the segments lies between 120 kg per cubic m and preferably 150 kg per cubic m. A butterfly valve is pivotably mounted around a pivot axis in the housing. A coating (18) e.g. aluminum coating, is provided on an outer side surface that faces away from the housing. The segments are made of a mineral fiber material e.g. rock wool, glass wool or ceramic wool. The coating is a color coating or fleece. An independent claim is also included for a fire protection flap.
