[Also in Group XXXVIII] In fluid flow indicating apparatus a shaft 18 is driven from the meter in accordance with the fluid flow and carries a trip pawl 60 having arms 72 engageable with a stop 74 on the upper face of a gear sector 62. The sector 62 is freely and eccentrically mounted on the shaft 18 and engages with a second gear sector 64. The sector 62 rotates with the shaft 18 for 60 degrees rotating the sector 64 correspondingly against the action of a coil spring 76, until the stop 74 is released from the arm 72. Mounted on the sector 64 is a shaft 58 carrying an annular ceramic magnet 82 having six poles of alternate polarity co-operating with six stationary poles 84, the poles 84 having wound coils connected in series to two output wires. The oscillatory movement of the shaft 58 produces pulses in the output wires which are fed to an electromagnetic counter (not shown). In a modification (Figs. 9, 10, not shown) the gear sector 62 is replaced by a disc having spaced-apart geared portions. |
