The present invention relates to a touch sensing device and a touch sensing method. According to the present invention relating to touch sensing method of a touch screen containing a recognizable area including a plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of second electrode, the method comprises the following steps: a) applying operating signals successively to each first electrode according to the predetermined period and extracting changes in capacitance from the second electrodes; b) checking if a touch input is created from the changes in capacitance; c) applying operating signals to the first electrodes included in a first area in which touch inputs are created within the recognizable area, if the touch input is confirmed to be created; d) extracting changes in capacitance from the second electrodes included in the first area; and repeating the step ‘c’ and ‘d’ until it passes the predetermined period. |
