摘要 The present invention relates to a socket pipe for protecting packing rings using shrink fit rings comprising: a socket pipe-structural main body having sockets parts arranged in both ends; packing rings inserted in the socket parts; and shrink fitting rings shrink-fitted in the socket parts. The packing rings are inserted inside the socket parts and are formed into the shape of a ring for surrounding one end of pipes to be connected. Each packing ring comprises: an internal packing protrusion protruding from the inner surface of one end thereof to the inner surface of the pipe to be connected; and external packing protrusions protruding from the outer surface at regular intervals and coming in contact with the inner surface of the socket part. The shrink fit rings surround the pipes to be connected and are shrink-fitted in the socket parts. Each shrink fit ring has a hanging sill protruding from the outer surface of one end thereof to be hung on the other end of the socket part. When the pipes to be connected are connected by the socket pipe, the pipes to be connected are fitted in the socket parts after the packing rings and the shrink fit rings are fitted in one end of the pipes to be connected in a state where the shrink fit rings are positioned behind the packing rings. At this time, the socket parts and the shrink fit rings are firmly coupled by the shrink fitting to prevent the overturning and separation of the packing rings using the internal packing protrusions when those are coupled to the socket parts. Also, the present invention can prevent the damage to the packing rings due to vertical load because the vertical load applied to the socket parts or the pipes to be connected is transferred to not the packing rings but the socket parts or the pipes to be connected by the shrink fitting. Thus, the present invention can maintain watertightness for a long time by preventing the damage to the packing rings.
