A method for outputting an image signal of an imaging device and the imaging device applying the same are provided to maximize satisfaction through cost reduction and image quality improvement by increasing brightness of the image signal in a low brightness LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel. An image signal of each frame inputted to an imaging device is decoded into a brightness signal and a color signal(S301). A histogram of the brightness signal is analyzed. The histogram is classified into each section. The brightness signal is output by resetting brightness gain of each section(S302). The color signal is converted into RGB(Red, Green, and Blue) components. A gamma curve of each RGB component is output. The output brightness is optimized by inputting a white pattern to the gamma curve of each RGB component(S303). |
