An apparatus for capturing an image and a method thereof are provided to synthesize a plurality of images by adding different weighted values and controlling luminance of a plurality of images photographed with different exposure time. An apparatus for capturing an image comprises the followings: a photo receiving unit(310) producing a plurality of images having different exposure time; a brightness control unit(320) synchronizing a range of luminance distribution of each image; a brightness controlling unit synchronizing the range of luminance distribution; and an image composition unit(330) synthesizing one image by adding different weighted values on each image. |
