A system includes a device, such as a streetlight or a signal light, having one or more conduits extending therefrom. An electrical conductor extends through the conduit and is connected to the light. The conduit also has a fiber optic cable extending therethrough, installed by way of a rod assembly inserted into one end of the conduit and a tool inserted into another end of the conduit. The ends of the rod assembly and the tool engage one another in the conduit and allow one of the tool or the rod assembly to be withdrawn from the conduit, withdrawing the other. The fiber optic cable is coupled thereto and extended through the conduit. |
