PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a high-purity nickel efficiently through electrowinning by using a nickel-containing solution and using a simple apparatus. SOLUTION: The method of producing the high-purity nickel includes: a step 1 of obtaining an electrolytic solution having impurity concentration of 0.1 mg/L or lower by removing impurities while subjecting the nickel-containing solution that contains the impurities such as iron, zinc and copper to electrolyzation under a predetermined range of current density and pH; and a step 2 of conducting electrowinning of nickel by using the electrolytic solution from which the impurities are removed, in an electrolysis layer where an anode and a cathode are separated from each other by a barrier membrane.
