A method for selectively decoding X-PAD(eXtended Program Associated Data), a system for the method, and a terminal device for the method are provided to decrease the number of unnecessary decoding operations by preventing the decoding of a received X-PAD when generation time information of the received X-PAD is equal to one of generation time information of the pre-decoded X-PAD. A method for selectively decoding X-PAD comprises the steps of appending information about an X-PAD generation time to the X-PAD (S702), and transmitting the X-PAD with the information about X-PAD generation time by a broadcasting server(S703). Herein, a DLS(Dynamic Level Service) is appended to the X-PAD. The information about X-PAD generation time is appended to an Rfa(Reserved for future addition) field of a prefix of a DLS segment. |
