In a device for connecting sheets &c. having registering apertures, a tube 1 has an axiallymovable plunger 12 therein which is engageable with radially movable balls 10 in holes 4 of the tube 1. The balls are retained in the holes by the outer ends thereof being reduced in diameter and by a leaf-spring 8 fitted in a bore 5 of the tube, the spring being held therein by an endplate 9. The bore 5 is increased at 6 to receive a head 14 of the plunger which, having a stepped portion 13, allows the insertion of a spring 19 which urges the plunger to the locking-position where the balls 10 are forced outwardly. The plunger is reduced in diameter at 15 so that it can be moved axially in either direction to an unlocking position where the balls are free to return so that the tube can be inserted or removed from a hole 24 of a sheet 25, for example. Inadvertent removal of the plunger from the tube is prevented by a pin 18 attached to the tube and engaged in a slot 16 of the head 14. Axial movement of the plunger may be effected by a tommy-bar 22 attached to the head 14, the tube being recessed at 23 to receive the bar 22; alternatively a ring may be attached to the head 14. A dust-cap 26 is fitted to the head 14. |
