摘要 FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composite material, containing particles of diamond, boron carbide and silicon carbide, and can be applied as armour, instruments for cutting, drilling and mechanical processing, as well as in applications, where abrasive wear takes place. Composite material possesses porosity, equal to less than 2 vol. %. The average size of diamond particles is not more than 50 mcm different from the average size of boron carbide particles. Method of manufacturing such materials includes application of boron carbide coating on multitude of diamond particles, joining multitude of diamond particles with formation of raw material and heating raw material in contact with silicon melt to the temperature in the range from approximately 1200 to approximately 2000°C under impact of pressure or vacuum, which does not exceed approximately 2000 MPa.EFFECT: improvement of strength, hardness, toughness of material and its resistance to abrasive impact.12 cl, 3 ex, 4 dwg
