PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of improving display quality by enhancing a contrast in a wide viewing angle range, and a manufacturing method of the display device.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a display body; and a light control film provided on a visible side of the display body via an adhesion layer and diffusing light emitted from the display body in an azimuth direction as viewed from a normal direction of the display body. The light control film includes: a substrate having light transmissivity; a light diffusion part provided in a partial area on one surface of the substrate; and a light shielding layer provided in the residual area excluding the partial area. The light diffusion part includes a light emittance end face on the substrate side, and a light incident end face whose area is larger than that of the light emittance end face on the side opposite to the substrate side. The light shielding layer is thinner than a separation distance between the light emittance end face and the light incident end face, is formed so as to contact with at least a part of the outer periphery of the substrate in plan view in the peripheral part of the substrate, and the space defined by the light shielding layer contacting with the outer periphery and the outer peripheral surface of the light diffusion part is filled with resin material. |
