<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing ring whose durability against the contact with rolling elements is secured and which can stabilize the cost of a rolling bearing, and to provide a rolling bearing equipped with the bearing ring.SOLUTION: An outer ring 20 includes a load member 21 having an annular shape, and including an outer ring rolling surface 20a to contact balls of the rolling bearing, and a supporting member 22 connected to the load member 21 at its side opposite to the outer ring rolling surface 20a, and having an annular shape. The load member 21 is formed of steel. The load member 21 includes a hardened layer 21a which is formed along the outer ring rolling surface 20a throughout its periphery so as to include the outer ring rolling surface 20a. The thickness in the radial direction of the load member 21 is smaller than ten times the short radius of a contact ellipse in the case that the balls contact the outer ring rolling surface 20a to load maximum contact surface pressure on the outer ring rolling surface 20a. The consistency of at least one of nickel, chrome and molybdenum contained in a structural material for the supporting member 22 is lower than a structural material for the load member 21.</p> |
