POLARIZATION DEMULTIPLEXING/MULTIPLEXING ELEMENT, OPTICAL SYSTEM, AND DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with a simple structure and excellent in image display performance.SOLUTION: The display device includes: a light source part having a laser source; a polarization demultiplexing/multiplexing element through which a laser beam from the light source part transmits; and a scan part scanning the laser beam transmitting through the polarization demultiplexing/multiplexing element. The polarization demultiplexing/multiplexing element includes: a first optical element having a first polarization demultiplexing surface and a first reflection surface opposite to each other; and a second optical element having a second polarization demultiplexing surface and a second reflection surface opposite to each other. The first reflection surface reflects light from the first polarization demultiplexing surface toward the second reflection surface, and the second reflection surface reflects light from the first reflection surface toward the second polarization demultiplexing surface.
