PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate inconvenience of incorrect detection according to open/closed detection of an opening/closing part, in an automatic document conveying device including an open/closed detection sensor and interlock switches.SOLUTION: An automatic document conveying device includes: an open/closed detection sensor 73 that detects opening/closing states of a pressure plate part 20; an interlock switch 72 that is turned on when the pressure plate part 20 is in a closed state, turned off when the pressure plate part 20 is in an open state, and supplies power to a drive system motor M during the on state; and a controller 100 that determines the open/closed state of the pressure plate part 20 on the basis of detection outputs of the open/closed detection sensor 73 and interlock switch 72. The controller 100 determines that the pressure plate part 20 is in the closed state only when both the open/closed detection sensor 73 and interlock switch 72 are turned on.
