PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device for an internal combustion engine in which an assembling work for each of composing elements can be easily carried out while a positional displacement between a cover member and a phase changing mechanism is restricted.SOLUTION: There are provided a phase changing mechanism 4 including a deceleration mechanism 8 for decreasing a speed of rotation of an electric motor 12 fixed to a timing sprocket 1 and transmitting that speed to a cam shaft 2, and a cover member 3 fixed to a chain cover 49. A bearing member 42 for rotationally bearing the cam shaft is integrally provided with a plurality of protrusions 57, 58 each of whose extremity ends 57a, 58a projects toward the cover member, and provided with two position setting pins 54, 55 inserted into press-fitting pin holes 57b, 58b formed in each of the extremity ends and position setting pin holes 3i, 3j formed at a fixing flange 3b of the cover member. |
