PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of preventing extension of warming-up time with a simple configuration without losing a self temperature control function, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: a fixing sleeve having a heat generating layer; an excitation coil that generates a magnetic flux to heat the fixing sleeve by induction; a magnetic shunt alloy that transfers the heat generated by the fixing sleeve; and a demagnetization member that is arranged at a position opposite to the excitation coil with the magnetic shunt alloy 7 therebetween. The demagnetization member is separated into two and arranged with a gap 10 therebetween, and then the demagnetization members are brought into contact with each other by thermal expansion of the demagnetization members themselves or a thermal expansion member 9, so as to cause the demagnetization members to exhibit self temperature control function by the magnetic flux of the excitation coil and a repulsive magnetic flux generated by the demagnetization members. |
