The present invention relates to a backlight unit used as a light source with a collimated light beam having high collimator purity and a display device using the same. According to the present invention, the backlight unit comprises: a light source which provides a diffused light; a panel lens collimating the diffused light provided by the light source to the collimated light beam emitted uniformly in a certain area; and a vibration generator for removing speckle noise included in the collimated light beam. The present invention provides the thin film planar backlight unit and the thin film planar display device using the same, having a great collimator level and a uniform luminance distribution over a large area by comprising a thin film light source and a thin film light source sheet.
