PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that can keep the performance of a fuel cell for long term.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system comprises: a cell unit 20 having an oxidant electrode containing core shell catalyst particles, the cell unit 20 having a core containing at least one material selected from palladium and palladium alloy and a shell which is formed of shell metal containing at least one material selected from platinum and platinum alloy and covers the core; coverage quantitating means 180 for quantitating the coverage of the core shell catalyst particles; first reproducing means 120 for controlling the potential of the oxidant electrode to enhance the coverage of the core shell catalyst particles; determining means 190 for determining whether the coverage of the core shell catalyst particles measured by the coverage quantitating means is within a predetermined first numerical range; and reproduction processing control means 200 for making the first reproducing means execute when it is determined in the determining means that the coverage is within the first numerical range. |
