PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct an inspection of the total number of an optical glass base material rather than an extraction, sensory inspection by an operator, and reduce an inspection time and variations in inspection results in a defect inspection of the surface and inside of an optical glass base material, so as to obtain an optical glass base material with high quality.SOLUTION: A defect inspection device for an optical glass base material includes an inspection unit on which an optical glass base material is mounted. The inspection unit includes: a light source part that irradiates the inside of an optical glass base material with light; an imaging part that photographs at least one of the inside and surface of the optical glass base material irradiated with the light from the light source part; and a determination control part that determines information related to a defect at least on the inside and surface of the optical glass base material on the basis of an image signal from the imaging part. |
