PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability when mounting a terminal fitting with a rubber plug to a connector housing.SOLUTION: A method is disclosed for inserting a terminal fitting 10 (a terminal fitting with a rubber plug) in which a rubber plug 15 is fixed to a rear end portion of a terminal body 11 connected to a front end portion of an electric wire 30, from the back into a terminal accommodation chamber 41 of a connector housing 40 and elastically adhering the rubber plug 15 to a seal surface 42 of the terminal accommodation chamber 41. An engage part 19 is formed in a region behind a seal part 17 which is adhered to the seal surface 42, in the outer circumference of the rubber plug 15, the engage part 19 is then displaced backwards relatively to the electric wire 30 and the terminal body 11, and the seal part 17 is elastically elongated and deformed between the terminal body 11 and the engage part 19. While elongating the seal part 17, the rubber plug 15 is inserted into the terminal accommodation chamber 41, and the seal part 17 is elastically adhered to the seal surface 42 by canceling the backward displacement of the engage part 19. |
