PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting coil the stability of which is enhanced, by preventing the coil characteristics of the superconducting coil from degrading.SOLUTION: A superconducting coil 10A is formed by winding a superconducting wire rod, and then inflating the straight portion of a racetrack shape consisting of an arcuate portion and a straight portion continuous thereto. Following relationship is satisfied; R={a+(x+2x)b}/2xb, where (a) is the length equal to one half of the length of a portion corresponding to the straight portion, b is the inner radius of the arcuate portion in the winding portion around which the superconducting wire rod is wound, x is the ratio of the length of inflation at the inflated position of the portion corresponding to the straight portion to the inner diameter b, and R is the radius of curvature at the inflated position of the portion corresponding to the straight portion. |
