PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection device capable of protecting an external storage device securely, even when no power is supplied to the protection device.SOLUTION: While an external storage device 100 is powered on, power is supplied to a drive member 5. The drive member 5 maintains an opening/closing member 2 in an open position to keep a vent 113 open. When the external storage device 100 is powered off, the power supply to the drive member 5 is shut off. The opening/closing member 2 is moved from the open position to a close position by the own weight of the opening/closing member 2 and an energizing force of an energizing member 4, thereby closing the vent 113. |
