PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet discharge device and the like, which are capable of preventing occurrence of an accommodation failure on a stacking surface due to existence of a sheet resulting from a contact member appropriately swinging in accordance with the state of a sheet that is accommodated in an abnormal state as a result of a trail edge portion of the sheet in a discharge direction of the sheet floating from the stacking surface, causing detection of a sheet-full state, the contact member used for detecting a sheet-full state by swinging to a position corresponding to a stack height of sheets.SOLUTION: A sheet discharge device includes: a discharge part having a sheet discharge port and a pair of discharge rollers; an accommodation part having a stacking surface for accommodating a sheet; and a sheet-full detection part having a contact member and detection means for detecting a state where the contact member is swung to a position regarded a sheet-full state. Further, the contact member includes a second contact part that comes into contact with an upper surface of a sheet toward a trail edge of the sheet that is accommodated in an abnormal state and swings the contact member to a position regarded a sheet-full state when a height of the upper surface of the sheet toward the trail edge thereof reaches a height approaching a virtual line that is regarded a tangential line at a contact portion of the pair of discharge rollers as a discharge direction of the sheet. |
