PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage of a seal member from occurring when the seal member is held by a seal groove formed at an end plate in a shaft center cooling type rotor.SOLUTION: An end plate 16 is fitted into a rotor shaft 12 so as to contact with an end surface 32 of a rotor core 14. In the end plate 16, a fluid chamber 36 which connects a communication passage 24 of the rotor shaft 12 with a refrigerant passage 30 of the rotor core 14 is recessed. A seal member 18 is provided at an outer edge of the fluid chamber 36. A seal lip 46 which closely contacts with an end surface 32 of the rotor core 14 is provided at the seal member 18. A seal groove 42 to which the seal member 18 is attached is formed at the outer edge of the fluid chamber 36. A side wall 43 of the seal groove 42 is covered by a cover member 20 for protecting the seal member 18.
