PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise a collection rate of liquid absorbent fibers such as pulp fibers.SOLUTION: There is provided a separation device which separates liquid absorbent fibers related to an absorbent article from a material having the liquid absorbent fibers and impurities. The separation device includes: a case; a partition member dividing a space in the case into a first space and a second space; an input port for inputting the material into the first space on a current of air; a rotary member housed in the first space and configured to agitate the material to open; and a discharge port for discharging the liquid absorbent fibers in the material opened by the rotary member from the inside of the first space on a current of air. The partition member has a plurality of through holes communicating the first space and the second space. The second space is provided with an intake port for sucking air in the second space, and the intake port sucks down liquid absorbent fibers passed through the through holes of the partition member and floating in the second space. |
