PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accumulating device capable of reducing pressure on a single container from a following container, realizing smooth accumulation, and achieving device cost reduction of downstream connecting means.SOLUTION: During normal operation, a container is transported at a container transporting speed by transportation means on plural lines designed at a speed faster than a single line adhesion speed relative to an upstream container supplying ability. In a case where container transportation delay is detected by container transportation delay detection means, a most downstream short conveyor among single line conveyors in operation of container transportation is ceased so that the containers from upstream are accumulated at a container adhesion speed. When container accumulation in the single line conveyors becomes full condition, a most upstream short conveyor which has been in operation of container transportation is ceased taking into account a connection switching action time required for upstream connecting means. By connection switching by the upstream connecting means, containers from upstream are guided to another single line conveyor in the transportation means on plural lines and transported at the container adhesion speed on the another single line conveyor. |
