The method involves acquisition of measurements of physical parameters such as temperature, pressure, and pressure loss, specific to an air sampling system at successive moments. The current estimate of air flow taken on an engine (39) of an aircraft is evaluated as a function of measurements of physical parameters. A flow error generated by inaccuracies relative to physical parameters is calculated. The current estimate of the air flow is corrected by withdrawing the flow error so as to determine another current estimate of air flow. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for checking an engine of an aircraft (2) a device for real-time estimate of an air flow taken on an engine of an aircraft.
