The present invention relates to a composition comprising an Elsholtziae Herba extract as an active ingredient for preventing or treating acute renal failure. The Elsholtziae Herba extract according to the present invention shows an inhibitory effect of ROS generation, an effect of increasing GSH content, and a reducing effect of p53 expression in a cell model of acute renal failure, thereby can be valuably used for a composition for preventing and treating the acute renal failure.
