[Also in Group XXVIII] A flexible hose comprising a polytetrafluoroethylene tube with a wire braid covering 14 is bent by filling with low pressure oil (5 to 10 lbs. per sq. inch), holding it about a block 22 by clamps 24, and then increasing the oil pressure to e.g. 1500 lbs. per sq. inch for at least five minutes. After removing from the block, the hose opens out slightly and then remains permanently bent. Specification 809,307 is referred to. |
