A light emitting device according to the embodiment of the present invention includes: a light emitting structure which includes a first conductive semiconductor layer, an active layer which is arranged on the first conductive semiconductor layer, and a second conductive semiconductor layer which is arranged on the active layer; a first electrode which is electrically connected to the first conductive semiconductor layer; and a second electrode which is electrically connected to the second conductive semiconductor layer. A nonlinear semiconductor layer is arranged on or near the light emitting structure. The refractive index of the nonlinear semiconductor layer is different from the refractive index of the adjacent semiconductor layer. The surface of the nonlinear semiconductor layer is formed with a nonlinear structure.
