A system for extracting and converting CAD data of a ship according to the present invention includes at least one client terminal, which loads CAD design data of a ship in response to a request from a worker and in which a computer program is executed to output or store the result of the model extraction work to extract model data for each component from the CAD design data of a ship and the model conversion work to convert the model data into the form of JT file; and a conversion server connected to the client terminal to exchange information with the client server and to perform multi-process based model extraction work and model conversion work. Based on the above configuration, the system and the method for extracting and converting the CAD data of a ship according to the present invention can automatically perform the multi-process based model extraction work and model conversion work on large-sized ship design data in a separate server, so the labor force and the labor time can be remarkably reduced compared with the conventional technology where the extraction and conversion works are performed under single process environment of a local PC.
