<p>The core (1) has a three-dimensional periodic array of hollow tubular channels (4-7) connected to one another and inserted into a supportive foam, where one of the channels has a lower end (4a) and an upper end (4b). The channels are defined by lateral surfaces extending in channel directions (4c-7c) from lower ends to upper ends of the channels, respectively. The lower and upper ends are respectively located at a lower surface (2) and an upper surface (3) of the core. The channel directions are not coplanar, where the channels exhibit polygonal sections i.e. square sections. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a sandwich structural material core.</p> |
