A system and a method for generating and playing a 3D(Dimensional) video file including additional information for a 3D image are provided to facilitate storing and searching a 3D image file by using index information included in the 3D image file. An image file generator generates a 3D image file(200). The 3D image file includes first and second image data, and additional information. The second image data is used for generating a 3D image in synchronization with the first image data. The additional information is used for reducing fatigue of eyes of a user viewing the 3D image. An image file players plays and displays the 3D image file by composing the first and second image data based on the additional information. |
