The station has a retaining bar (2), and bearings arrangement (A1, A2) mounted on a concave unit i.e. connecting rod (3), by a mounting tool. An indicator light (I1) identifies a bearing (20) to be mounted. A sensor (C1) e.g. infrared type sensor, detects a catch of the bearing. Another indicator light identifies the rod on which the bearing is mounted. Another sensor (C2) is provided to the rod for checking presence of the mounting tool on the rod for mounting the bearing. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a bearing on an engine block element. |
