The invention relates to engine building and can be used for controlling gas and liquid flows in the pipes of internal combustion engines, external combustion engines and also compressed gas engines. The system for controlling gas distribution valves in an engine comprises hydraulic cylinders with double-acting pistons, the rods thereof being gas distribution valve stems, and a pressurized oil supply system with a device for controlling the flow of oil to the hydraulic cylinders of the valves, said device having a pilot spool valve and an operating spool valve on each hydraulic cylinder of the gas distribution valve. The simplified design and extended control capabilities for gas distribution valves in an engine result in increased efficiency, power and reliability of engine operation.
