An LCD device is provided to eliminate a vertical striped phenomenon shown by a particular data pattern in the LCD device driven in Z-inversion type. Data lines(DL) and gate lines(OGL,EGL) cross together. On a first substrate, TFTs for selecting liquid crystal cells are arrayed at different positions in pixel row unit based on the data lines between two neighboring data lines. A second substrate is opposed to the first substrate at an interval of a liquid crystal layer, and has black matrix patterns(BM) formed at positions corresponding to the data lines, the gate lines, and the TFTs. Each of the liquid crystal cells is configured as symmetric opening surfaces(44) in right and left directions. |
