PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contaminant treatment device for certainly removing a radioactive material from sludge or contaminated water containing the radioactive material such as cesium.SOLUTION: The contaminant treatment device includes: a high temperature dryer (10) having a function of heating the inside to a predetermined temperature (for example, 900°C); a cyclone (30) that is communicated with an exhaust port (10ax) of the high temperature dryer (10), and has a function of cooling the exhaust gas of the high temperature dryer (10) and a function of separating the exhaust gas of the high temperature dryer (10) into a solid (fly ash, dust, particle containing cesium) and gas (containing vaporized cesium); an exhaust gas cleaning device (70) having a function of making the gas separated by the cyclone (30) flow in water; and a water treatment mechanism (DVW) having a coagulation/sedimentation tank (140).
