A honeycomb body (1) made of ceramic material for use in installations for purifying and/or regenerating gases, having a prismatic body through which a plurality of gas-flow channels pass, said gas-flow channels being parallel to one another, rectilinear and leading to both end faces of the honeycomb body, wherein the honeycomb body has at least one tubular recess (5, 5') which is oriented transverse to the direction of the flow channels (4).
