PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slurry composition for lithium ion secondary battery negative electrode which enables the improvement of a cycle property.SOLUTION: A slurry composition for lithium ion secondary battery negative electrode comprises a negative electrode active material, a water-soluble polymer, a particulate binder and water. The negative electrode active material includes a compound containing silicon. The water-soluble polymer includes 0.1-30 wt.% of a silicon-containing monomer unit, and 20-60 wt.% of an acid group-containing monomer unit.
