PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-reliability external storage device capable of withstanding vibration, a shock, floods, etc.SOLUTION: An external storage device 1 includes a storage medium 2 and a housing 5 which hermetically covers the storage medium 2 for waterproofing from the outside space, and the storage medium 2 is hermetically covered to be waterproofed. Preferably, the storage medium 2 is hermetically covered with a gummous first member 2i which absorbs a shock to be waterproofed. Further, the first member 2i preferably contains powder or particles of a material having higher thermal conductivity than the first member 2i so as to enhance the thermal conductivity. Further, it is preferred that the storage medium 2 and an interface substrate 3 which switches an interface between external input and output are hermetically covered with the housing 5 to be waterproofed. |
