PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery which allows the rise in open-circuit voltage between battery terminals at the end of charging, and whose capacity is subjected to a smaller deterioration in capacity in connection with charge-discharge cycle.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte is for a lithium secondary battery which includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, and in which the open-circuit voltage between battery terminals at 25°C at the end of charging is 4.25 V or larger. The nonaqueous electrolyte comprises an electrolytic substance and a solvent. The solvent contains a cyclic carbonate having no carbon-carbon double bond, a cyclic ester, and a chain carbonate. Of components except the electrolyte substance, the cyclic carbonate accounts for 1-28 wt.%; the cyclic ester accounts for 1-40 wt.%; and the chain carbonate accounts for 50-95 wt.%. |
