A method for the inertia and/or balance setting of a hairspring-balance assembly involving the following steps: - producing a balance (2) and a hairspring (3), and irreversibly assembling them; - fixing in position, in a foolproof manner, the outermost turn (6) of the hairspring (3) to a stud (7) that is immobilised by irreversibly fixing in a foolproof manner to a balance coq (80); - defining a peripheral surface (20) of the balance (2), of which every point is separated from the hairspring (3) by a first predefined gap (E1), - carrying out re-machining work only on the peripheral area (20). |
