The method involves defining a forming region (24) to which a wood element is formed, and cutting out a portion in a forming area (14) of a timber element. A bonding portion (22) is moistened and heated. The bonding portion is reshaped and clamped to a desired conversion-retaining jig until the deformed bonding portion is in dried condition. The forming region is filled with filling material such as plastic material, so that the bonding portion and the filling material form a composite. Two wood element portions (16, 18) are joined together by the filling material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a solid wood element (2) a wooden structure.
