The airbag arrangement has an airbag (1) that is inflatable by a gas generator (2) for protecting a vehicle occupant of the motor vehicle. The airbag has two fixing areas (201,202), by which the airbag is connected with two fastening areas (501,502) of a vehicle seat. The former or latter fixing area is connected with the former or latter fastening area over a material storage (6) for the airbag material. The material storage is adapted to provide the airbag material until the attainment of an intended expansion final state during the expansion of the airbag upon inflation of the airbag.
