摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether an auxiliary battery is normal or, degradation or failure occurs, and perform appropriate charge control.SOLUTION: An electrical power system comprises a main battery 10 for supplying electric power to a main load circuit 11 which generates a drive power for a hybrid vehicle 5, a chargeable/dischargeable auxiliary battery 20 for supplying electric power to auxiliary devices 23 and 24, a DC/DC converter 100 for charging the auxiliary battery 20 using electric power fed from the main battery 10, and a control device 50 for controlling the DC/DC converter 100 so as to charge the auxiliary battery 20 if a prescribed time passes after the electrical power system 9 is off-controlled or a voltage VB2 of the auxiliary battery 20 lowers to a charge start voltage. If the voltage VB2 of the auxiliary battery 20 lowers to the charge start voltage before the prescribed time passes, the control device 50 determines that degradation occurs in the auxiliary battery 20.
