PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image capturing lens which is wide-angle but is well corrected for aberrations.SOLUTION: An image capturing lens includes a negative first lens L1, a negative second lens L2, a positive third lens L3, and a positive fourth lens L4 arranged in order from the object side. The first lens L1 and the second lens L2 are meniscus-shaped having object-side surfaces which are convex in the vicinity of the optical axis, while the third lens L3 and the fourth lens L4 are shaped to be biconvex in the vicinity of the optical axis. The fifth lens L5 is meniscus-shaped having an object-side surface which is concave in the vicinity of the optical axis. The fifth lens L5 is made of a material having an Abbe number in a range of 20 to 40, and each of the other lenses is made of a material having an Abbe number in a range of 45 to 75. The image capturing lens satisfies an expression -1.5<f5/f<-0.5, where f represents a focal length of the entire lens system and f5 represents a focal length of the fifth lens L5. |
