PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element having a long life.SOLUTION: The light emitting element includes an electron transport layer 113 and a hole transport layer 112 between a first electrode 102 and a second electrode 104, and a first layer 121 and a second layer 122 between the electron transport layer 113 and the hole transport layer 112. The first layer 121 includes a first organic compound and a second organic compound, and the second layer 122 includes a third organic compound and a fourth organic compound. The first layer 121 is provided on a first electrode 102 side of the second layer 122. The second organic compound has electron transport properties, the third organic compound has electron trap properties, the fourth organic compound has electron transport properties, and emission color of the first organic compound and emission color of the third organic compound are in the same color system. Light emission from the first organic compound is obtained by the application of voltage to the first electrode 102 and the second electrode 104 so that a potential of the first electrode 102 is higher than a potential of the second electrode 104.
