<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type display device for observing a display element beyond a transparent electrode excellent in display quality, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: In a reflection type display device, a display medium containing at least one or more types of an electrically responsive material are sealed in two opposite substrates at least one of which is transparent, and the display medium provides a required display when a predetermined electric field is applied between the two substrates. One of the substrates is transparent, and a transparent common electrode is arranged on the entire surface of at least a display area on the one substrate. A pixel electrode is arranged on the other substrate and opposite the transparent common electrode, and also partition are arranged in a specific pattern. Auxiliary electrodes are arranged on the partitions in a pattern corresponding to the partitions as viewed in a plan view. Each of areas sectioned by the partitions and auxiliary electrodes is used as a cell, and the display medium is arranged in each cell.</p> |
